He was found guilty of felony charges of purposefully trespassing on restricted grounds without lawful permission and obstructing an official proceeding after his assault on the building. He was taken into custody by the police on January 9th, 2021, and in September of that same year, he entered a guilty plea to the solitary charge. He is sentenced to 41 months in prison starting in November 2021. He completed the first 3.4 years of his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Safford, Arizona. He was scheduled to be freed from prison in July 2023.
