Browns running back Nick Chubb was carted off the field Monday in Pittsburgh with what appeared to be a knee injury. On first down at the 8-yard line, Chubb caught a pass from quarterback Deshaun Watson and was intercepted by Steelers safety Minkah Few at the 4-yard line. Minkah Fitzpatrick hits.
When Chubb fell to the ground, his left knee appeared to buckle to the side. Chubb clutched his knee and rolled in pain, fending off teammates who offered to help him stand up.
The Browns were quick to rule out a return for the star edge rusher, who dislocated his left knee and tore his ACL, ACL and PCL in 2015, his second season at Georgia.
ESPN initially did not air replays of Monday Night Football, but play-by-play man Joe Buck reported that the Heinz Field crowd gasped when they saw the play on the video board.
Steelers fans reportedly chanted Chubb’s name as he was carried off the field in an ambulance. Jerome Ford came on as Chubb’s running back and quickly caught a three-yard pass from Watson for a touchdown and then ran for a two-point score to make the game 11-7. Section 2.

Fitzpatrick also required attention after the game, although he later returned to the game. The injury prompted a strong reaction across the NFL, with players voicing concerns about Chubb.
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray tweeted: “Praying for Nick Chubb, I never want to see this happen.”
“Praying for Nick Chubb,” Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson wrote in separate posts. “This is the worst feeling,” former defensive end JJ Watt wrote on Twitter. “Except for Nick Chubb. I wish Minkah the best. Injuries suck, man. They absolutely suck.”
