The acclaimed Nigerian music artist, Wizkid, has reignited his longstanding rivalry with fellow Afrobeats icon, Davido.
Through a sequence of tweets on the social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), Wizkid fanned the flames while unveiling his first single of the year, taking a direct shot at his counterpart.
The tension escalated when an X user questioned Wizkid’s motive behind dissing Davido, tweeting, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?”
Wizkid dismissed the accusation boldly, claiming he does not beef with “wack niggas” and taking a direct shot at Davido’s talent.
He went further, coining a new derogatory nickname for Davido, calling him “Frigodo” and stating that “Bingos got nothing on Starboy General till Infinity.”
Wizkid tweeted:
“80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop. Pussy boys.
I don’t beef with wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent.
Frigodo.”
The fight between the two music giants, which has seen highs and lows over the years, flared up again in recent months following a series of controversial tweets from Wizkid.
The rivalry took a bitter turn when both artistes began attacking each other’s personal lives.
Davido alleged that Wizkid had domestically abused his girlfriend and baby mama, Jada Pollock, while Wizkid retaliated by mocking Davido’s infidelity, insinuating that the “FEM” crooner had been caught begging for sex from one of his side chicks.
Adding fuel to the fire, Wizkid also mocked Davido’s entry into the world of cryptocurrency. After Davido launched a meme coin, Wizkid threw shade, advising his fans to “work smart so as not to hustle like a fool.”
