M.I Lists Successful Nigerian Rappers After Wizkid’s Initial Comment

Nigerian rap star gave Wizkid a reply after the latter claimed “rap is dead”

Nigerian ace rapper Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I. Abaga, has reacted to Wizkid’s claim that the hip-hop genre is dead.

Nigerian Grammy-winning megastar Wizkid stated in an interview with British magazine 10 that he does not listen to rap because he believes the genre is boring and dead.

In his comment, Wizkid opined that rappers were all rapping on similar beats while delivering similar flows. He said:

“I don’t listen to rap – that shit is boring to me. It’s dead now, it’s tired. These guys do the same shit, rap on the same beats and the same flows.”

The statement, which has gotten several reactions from hip-hop acts and their fans, saw veteran rapper M.I. Abaga react as well. The rapper took his twitter on Friday 2nd of December 2022, to share a list of successful Nigerian rappers.
