Tanner Hoang Biography
Tanner Hoang, a student at Texas A&M University, was discovered dead in Austin on Saturday after he had not been seen since December 16.
An announcement was made on social media by a family spokesperson that the body of Hoang, who was 22 years old, was discovered in the Pennybacker Bridge area on Loop 360. Although the cause of death has not been determined, the spokesperson stated that suspicious circumstances are not being considered.
Tanner is now in the arms of his Savior, King, Prince of Peace, Joy, and Healer on this Christmas Eve, the spokesperson wrote. “This is not the outcome that we have all been praying for, but on this Christmas Eve, Tanner is now in the arms of his Savior.”
The next statement made by the spokesperson was as follows: “The family of Tanner would like everyone to know how much they have appreciated everyone’s assistance.” “They experience the overwhelming love that God has for them through the outpouring of support that they have received. They are aware that Tanner was cherished by a multitude of people.”
According to a post that his family made on social media on December 16, Tanner was considered to be missing after he did not appear for a lunch that had been planned with his family and they were unable to get in touch with him. The family claimed that they had arrived in town to watch him graduate; however, they later discovered that he had not met all of the requirements to graduate and therefore would not be participating in the ceremony.

Tanner’s father said that he texted his son around 8:30 in the morning and received a notification that Tanner had read the text before his son’s phone was turned off. Tanner’s father said that this was the last time he used his son’s phone. After monitoring the use of his debit card, his family discovered that he had filled up his tank at a gas station in Caldwell, Texas, at approximately 12:08 p.m., but it was unclear where he drove after that point in time.
On December 23, his vehicle, along with his wallet and debit card, was discovered close to a hiking trail that leads to the Pennybacker Bridge Overlook near Highway 360 and the Colorado River. This led to the beginning of a search of the surrounding area. During the course of two days, volunteers searched on foot and on boats, and three drones were also launched to assist with the effort.
In an interview on Friday with a radio station in Texas, Tanner’s uncle Bao Hoang described his disappearance as “very uncharacteristic” of his nephew.
According to Bao, “He is always available, and he is always showing up to help.” “He has always been there to assist his grandparents whenever they have required assistance or whenever I have traveled back to Texas. Always present whenever his parents required assistance or whenever there was a gathering of the extended family.”
