Formula Regional Driver Dylan Van T Hoff Died
A Formula Regional driver was killed in a crash at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Dylan Van T Hoff, 17, of the Netherlands, was competing in the Formula Regional European Championship when his car crashed at the Eau Rouge/Raidillon complex.
The crash happened on the first lap of the race. Van T Hoff’s car lost control at the top of Eau Rouge and went airborne, landing upside down in the barriers. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was the first fatal accident at Spa-Francorchamps since 2019, when Anthoine Hubert was killed in a Formula 2 race. Van T Hoff was a promising young driver who had been racing since the age of 12. He had won several championships in karting and had recently made the step up to Formula Regional. He was a member of the MP Motorsport team, which also competed in Formula 2.
The Formula Regional European Championship is a feeder series for Formula 3 and Formula 2. It is considered to be one of the most competitive racing series in the world.
