A tragic incident unfolded in Brooklyn on Monday when New York activist and poet Ryan Carson was fatally stabbed in the presence of his girlfriend. CBS News reported that Mr. Carson, aged 32, was attacked at approximately 4 a.m. in the Crown Heights neighborhood while he and his girlfriend were standing on the street.
Surveillance footage of the incident has emerged online, depicting Mr. Carson and his girlfriend seated on a bus stop bench after attending a wedding on Long Island. The couple then rose from their seats and began walking down the block. Just ahead of them, a man inexplicably kicked scooters parked along the curb. He abruptly turned toward them and aggressively questioned, “What the heck are you staring at?” before brutally stabbing Mr. Carson multiple times in the chest.
As Mr. Carson lay wounded on the ground, the assailant returned and menacingly approached the terrified woman. She raised her hand in a desperate attempt to fend him off, but he spat at her before retreating.
Despite being rushed to Kings County Hospital Center, Mr. Carson succumbed to his injuries as the stab wound had penetrated his heart. The police have reported no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
