At least 68 people were killed when Nepal’s ATR-72 passenger plane crashed in Pokhara on Sunday, 20 minutes after taking off from Kathmandu. Elena Banduro, a Russian travel blogger, was one among the fatalities.
Alexei Novikov, the Russian ambassador to Nepal, acknowledged that four of his countrymen perished in the wrecked aircraft.
He remarked, “Unfortunately, four Russian Federation nationals perished.” We are in close contact with the Nepalese authorities and will offer the dead Russians’ families any aid that they require. Viktoria Altunina, Yuri Lugin, and Viktor Lagin were three other Russians who perished in the crash.
Among the 72 passengers on the flight that tragically crashed were five Indians, four Russians, two South Koreans, and one each from Argentina and France. Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the prime minister of Nepal, expressed his “deep sadness” over the fatal event. Jyotiraditya Scindia, the aviation minister for Nepal, too expressed sympathy via Twitter.

Elena Banduro: Who is she?
Elena Banduro, 33, posted online accounts of her travels. Her most recent journey featured her aboard a plane with the words “Go to Nepal” written in English.
Just before the terrible flight crashed as it approached Pokhara International Airport in Nepal, she blogged about her trip.
Condolence posts flooded Banduro’s social media after she passed away. The “brightest, sweetest soul we knew” was said to be her.
The deceased blogger traveled much and held a job managing social media.
